Emotional Dumpster Diving

Lately I have had days when I felt like I had fallen into an emotional dumpster.  Or that I WAS an emotional dumpster.  With all of the baggage I have been carrying around, it's a wonder I haven't tipped over from the weight.  No, wait, I have!  and I've landed bottom - first into all the rotten feelings that have been decaying for some time now.  Not letting them go has produced a pretty soggy, smelly mess, that has only fermented with time.   The trash truck is long overdue to dump out the contents of this over-filled dumpster of negative emotions.  May my dumpster not only be emptied, but may it be rinsed out and perfumed, sun-dried and cushioned, filled with fresh flowers and feather pillows with silk pillowcases.  That way, if I fall in the emotional hole again, I won't come out smelling rotten.

Today was a Good Day

The day started out good from the get-go.  Even after not much sleep, I felt alive and awake.  The temperature outside was lovely this morning, and the breeze only made it better.  We got to school on time, had a nice field trip, and then I had some time to run errands, and even got to sit in my car under some shade trees and feel the breeze once more while I ate my lunch.  The children were well-behaved as we stopped at four destinations (!) on the way home, with few meltdowns.  Also I found a couple of nice shirts at a thrift store, that will help me endure the coming heat waves of summer.
Thanks to G-d for a breath of fresh air today.
